This is becoming quite fun: updating the site every day gives me the opportunity to write about all sorts, without having to digest a whole week into one post.

To that end, I shall pontificate upon Google Locks. According to some page or other, this is the phenomenon of having one's page at the top of a Google query. It's a subject that I have discussed before, but now I have a name for it, and infinite column inches to fill, I shall do a more in-depth discussion. For all the sites that I run, including this one and Secret Pastry, which is not defunct, here are a selection of the known Google Locks:

Clearly the last one is quintessential... and it's reassuring to see that so many people continue to search for it. If you come across any other Google Locks held by these pages, please email them to me.
