As an enjoyable Christmas gift from my dear friends (thank you so much), I received The Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs. I've been listening to it all day, and have just got to love song number 69. Which is funny, if you think about it and have an immature sense of humour.
Also did I receive the golden-packaged Music of the Millennium 2. Having enjoyed much the original Music of the Millennium, I eagerly anticipate the contents of the new offering, which, I presume, will transport me 999 years into the future, and give me a taste of some mindblowingly futuristic music.
Lord of the Rings: I went to see it on Friday, and was rather impressed. Such an understated review is sure to see it become regarded as the greatest film of all time. (Not that I think it was the greatest film of all time, which is, as you well know, Gregory's Girl or Airplane!) Well I hope it does reach such an exalted status, because I went to see it the week it came I don't, and I wasn't born when Star Wars was released.
Two new dreams on which your dream-chapped lips may suckle, of course.
Cheers,
Derek.
