It is lunchtime, and I am in an artificially large group of people, ordering my lunch at Clarkston's premier fast-food outlet, Three-in-One. Suddenly, we can hear the school bell ringing. Although mostly resigned to our lateness, a friend and I notice his father driving past, and we hitch a lift to the school. We arrive on time for some sort of meeting, and enter with ironic apologies for our tardiness. When we emerge later into the playground, it is night-time, and darkness has fallen. I look up at a window, and see a man with a grenade launcher on his shoulder. I look ahead of us, and see several small fires on the far side of the playground.
