Blog Mathematics 2S - Algebra II 5/Jun/2003

This was always going to be the hard one. Algebra, with its twenty pages of examinable proofs, its rank inequalities and its orthogonal diagonalization theorems. In short:

Dr. Whitelaw's Revenge

With such a build-up, I'm surprised to be able to say that it was an utterly fair exam. The one tricky part (3(ii)(c)) was remarkably similar to one that I was completely unable to do when revising, so I bloodlessly skipped over question 3 to number 4, which was far more forgiving.

Happily, the examinable proofs are now flying out of the top of my head, much like this milk carton.

Cheers,

Derek.
