A lot of mildly-disturbing referral traffic is coming this way from Google queries on "the worlds strongest boy". Quite who would be interested in such a seemingly-perverse topic is utterly beyond me.
The root cause is a comment left by a Mr. Christian Broadhurst on an old post about trainspotting. (If you visit it, enjoy the indignance of "paul" while you're there.) He's a researcher, who has won at least one award for a Channel Five documentary called — you've guessed it — The World's Strongest Boy!
Fresh from this triumph, his company is making a documentary about trainspotters. Scratch that: it's young trainspotters. Or, rather, Britain's youngest trainspotter. As Christian himself says, "We need fanatical kids!!"
Am I the only person who was less disturbed when Five's documentaries were no more than thinly-veiled softcore pornography? At least we still have Law & Order....
Cheers,
Derek.
