About BEANS

What is BEANS?
BEANS is a framework for building community web aggregators. It grew out of the GUFF project to provide a community site for the students and alumni of the University of Glasgow.
About the author
BEANS was written by Derek Murray (see his blog, mrry), a fourth-year student in the Department of Computing Science at Glasgow.
Technical details
BEANS is coded entirely in PHP, with a MySQL database forming the backend. MagpieRSS is used to retrieve and parse the aggregated feeds. FeedCreator is used to generate the RSS 2.0 and Atom feeds.
Can I download a copy of BEANS?
You may download the latest version of BEANS from its Sourceforge project page. BEANS is licensed under the GNU General Public License.
